Chandler: You know, I remember my father, all dressed up in the red suit, the big black boots, and the patent leather belt, sneaking around downstairs. He didn't want anybody to see him but he'd be drunk, so he'd stumble, crash into something and wake everybody up.

Rachel: Well, that doesn't sound like a very merry Christmas.

Chandler: Who said anything about Christmas?

Monica: Hi.

Ross: Hey, anyone hear from Phoebe yet?

Rachel: No, nothing.

Monica: I hope she's OK.

Joey: Yeah, I know exactly what she's going through.

Monica: How do you know exactly what she's going through?

Joey: She told us.

Chandler: So what do you got there, Monica?

Monica: Just some stuff for the party.

Ross: Yeah, what're you guys doing here? Aren't you supposed to be Christmas shopping?

Monica: You guys haven't gotten your presents yet? Tomorrow's Christmas Eve. What are you gonna do?

Chandler: Don't you have to be Claymation to say stuff like that?

Rachel: Oh, by the way, Mon, I don't think the mailman liked your cookies. Here are the ornaments your mom sent.

Monica: Well, maybe the mailman liked the cookies. We just didn't give him enough.

Joey: Monica, pigeons learn faster ​than you.

Ross: Hey, Rach, you know what? I think, I think I know what'll make you feel better. How about you make a list about me.

Rachel: Wha... forget it, Ross. No. I am not gonna stand here and make a list of...

Ross: Come on, Rachel.

Rachel: OK, you're whiney, you are, you're obsessive, you are insecure, you're, you're gutless, you know, you don't ever, you don't just sort of seize the day, you know. You like me for, what, a year, you didn't do anything about it. And, uh, oh, you wear too much of that gel in your hair.

Ross: See, there, you uh, all right, you, you did what I said.

Rachel: Yeah, and you know what? 

Ross: Mmm.

Rachel: You're right. I do feel better. Thank you, Ross. 

 

Phoebe: Yeah, um, in Albany, could I have the number of Frank Buffay? OK, um, in Ithica? All right, um, Saratoga? Oneonta? All right, you know what? You shouldn't call yourself information.

Phoebe's Grandmother: Hey.

Phoebe: Hello, grandma, if that is in fact your real name.

Phoebe's Grandmother: Come on, now, Pooh. Don't still be mad at me. How's it going?

Phoebe: Ugh, not so good. Upstate's pretty big. He's pretty small. You do the math.

Phoebe's Grandmother: Well, I think you're better off without him. Oh, honey, I know he's your daddy, but, but to me, he's still the irresponsible creep who knocked up your mom and stole her Gremlin.

Phoebe: No, I just, just wanted to know who he was, you know?

Phoebe's Grandmother: ​Yeah. I know. OK. I wasn't completely honest with you when I told you that, uh, I didn't know exactly where he lived.

Phoebe: What do you mean?

Phoebe's Grandmother: He lives at 74 Laurel Drive in Middletown. If you hit the Dairy Queen, you've gone too far. You can take my cab.

Phoebe: Wow. Thank you.

Phoebe's Grandmother: Now, remember, nobody else drives that cab.

Phoebe: Uh-huh, got it. Oh, I'm gonna see my dad. Ok. Thank you. Oh. Ok. Oh. Wish me luck, Grandpa!

있잖아, 빨간 정장, 크고 검은 부츠, 애나멜 가죽 벨트 차림으로 몰래 아래층을 돌아다녔던 아버지를 기억해. 누가 자기를 보는 걸 원치 않았지만 술에 취해서 비틀거리며 뭔가를 들이받고 모두를 깨우곤 했지.

 

Rachel: Well, that doesn't sound like a very merry Christmas.

글쎄, 그건 아주 즐거운 크리스마스 처럼 들리지 않네.

 

Chandler: Who said anything about Christmas?

누가 크리스마스에 대한 걸 얘기했어?

 

Monica: Hi.

 

Ross: Hey, anyone hear from Phoebe yet?

안녕, 피비 소식 들은사람? 

 

Rachel: No, nothing.

Monica: I hope she's OK.

Joey: Yeah, I know exactly what she's going through.

응, 난 그녀가 겪고 있는걸 확실히 알아. 

 

Monica: How do you know exactly what she's going through?

오, 어쨌든 모니카, 우체부가 네 쿠키를 좋아하지 않는 것 같아. 여기 너네 엄마가 보내신 장식품들.
